Close hike with amazing views. I recommend you hike at least 100 feet beyond the large water tower. The drive to the trailhead offers amazing views as well.

Ncar trailhead is just 30 minutes away with access to multiple trails so hikers of all experience levels can enjoy the beautiful Boulder Flatirons. NCAR laboratory's visitors center has fun and educational tours that are especially great for families. The laboratory was designed by the famous I.M. Pei and constructed with local pink aggregate so it blends with the scenery beautifully.

Very close by, NCAR (The Nation Center for Atmospheric Research) has several trails from their parking lot. The building doors are open to the public for a self-tour that is quite interesting for all ages (they also have nice bathrooms). I highly recommend both the tour and the hiking.
