The rail trail is 25 miles long going all the way from Barnstable, Ma to Orleans, Ma. There are many different places to pick up the trail and park.

Cape Cod Rail Trail runs the length of the Cape. You can start out in Dennis and bike to Chatham center for the day or beyond! Already great for walking, running, rollerblading in the shade.

The Cape Cod Rail Trail is a 25-mile paved biking path that passes through the towns of Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, all the way up to Wellfleet. The route is located on a section of what used to be part of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad. On the way you’ll pass gorgeous marshes, ponds, wildlife sanctuaries, hiking paths, picnic tables, camping grounds, coffee / sandwich shops, museums, cranberry bogs and even ocean front! I used to drive here from Boston every weekend just to bike, for all the gorgeous views and immersion in nature while relaxing:)
