This is the place to start after you arrive in Southport. Get a cup of coffee and a sandwich to go from Southport Coffee and Kitchen; sit on an Adirondack chair on the lawn of Ft Johnston overlooking the ICW. Enjoy a relaxing view of Oak Island and Bald Head Island. Inside The visitors center are interesting bits of Southport fishing and war time history as well as movie memorabilia from TV shows and movies filmed here. Want to know more about Southport? From the visitors center you can enjoy a golf cart tour with an informative guide.
