The Drive is a multicultural and bohemian street that hosts the annual Dyke March. • I’ll kick off by distributing the highly coveted and detailed Vancouver Gay Map before introducing you to the owners of Womyns’ Ware, a women-owned sex-positive shop. • Take a snack break at Elbo Jamaican Patties—which works with Black and queer communities in Vancouver—before migrating to the floral shop Studio Full Bloom. • Browse the deep selection at Mintage Commercial Drive, Vancouver’s largest vintage clothing store, and then JQ Clothing for fun gender-inclusive outfits. You’ll leave with insider tips on queer Vancouver’s hidden gems, and a secret map to guide your future adventures in the neighborhood.

Discover the last Ancient Trees in Vancouver

Join me, a conservationist of ancient trees, for a big tree walking tour in Stanley Park, visiting the country’s biggest maple and some of Canada’s largest ancient cedars and Douglas firs. • Follow secret trails to visit trees that are nearly 1,000 years old. We will visit the park’s largest and oldest trees, many of them hidden to the average park visitor. • Using century-old postcards and historic maps, I’ll provide a unique perspective on the history of Vancouver and its ancient forests. • You’ll see historical evidence of how First Nations used the forests, and how settlers cut down trees during the era of industrial logging. • Pause and appreciate the significance of these remarkable giant trees. I’ll explain the future of these rare giants and their ecological importance. You'll leave my walk inspired by this secluded and peaceful area of Vancouver and the centuries-old giants that reside there, and you may even forget you’re right beside a major city during the tour.

Walk through the heart of Vancouver’s LGBTQ community

Davie Street has been the heart of Vancouver’s LGBTQ+ community for decades. Meet the designer of the LGBTQIA+ Map for a guided walk through the neighbourhood. • Start with a visit to Little Sisters Book and Art, which has survived legal challenges and bombings, and offers a great selection of reads for folks of all genders and ages. • Then we’ll meander down the street, stopping for coffee and popping into LGBTQ+-owned businesses. • Our walk will culminate with drinks at the Fountainhead Pub, one of the original gathering spots in Davie Village. You’ll receive a copy of my 2025 LGBTQIA+ Map of Vancouver, and I’ll be happy to share my recommendations for more places to shop, dine, and sightsee in town.

About the tour: On our 3-hour small group walking tour of Toronto you will see and learn about city's diversity, history and future. You will also see landmarks such as Harbourfront, Brookfield Place & The Entertainment District. The walk ends at the St. Lawrence Market, considered one the world's great food markets, so bring an appetite. The tour does go into Toronto's PATH an above and below ground labyrinth used by thousands of people daily. Bring your camera, your walking shoes and your questions! So why not try your hand at making them yourself? I will teach you the secrets on how to make some deliciously unique and authentic Montreal style bagels at home, the easy way. We will start by learning how the ingredients used affect the Bagels and the final result. Then we will all measure our ingredients using scales. After that, I will show you how to properly mix and knead the dough which you will do on your own right after me. I have adapted the best Boulanger (Bread Maker) techniques to the home kitchen so you will become a confident baker at home in no time! After mixing the dough, we will learn how to shape the bagels, boil them, dress them up with various toppings, bake them and finally eat them fresh out of the oven! X-Country Ski in the Heart of Montreal

*Schedule is flexible, feel free to message me to start earlier or later, or an unavailable date on the calendar* We meet at Café des Amis - Pavillon du Lac-aux-Castors (Beaver Lake) where you can rent your equipment ($23). Once we’ve got our gear on, I’ll give a run down of how to ski for beginners and tips for the pros ;) From there we begin our journey of skiing to the top of the mountain. I will coach and encourage us as we go! The trails are well-groomed, making for a nice and easy ski. Once we reach the top, we’ll be at Montreal’s famous landmark Mount Royal Chalet where we can enjoy iconic views of the city for some photo ops and pop into the chalet for some hot chocolate. After our little break we will enjoy the gentle downhill slope home that we’ve earned from our ski up! This is truly a fantastic way to enjoy winter in Montreal and get some good exercise in as well! *All skill levels welcome* Things to note -$23 rental fee (skis/boots/poles) -Dress warm, but you'll likely warm up as we get moving. Layers and clothing that breathe are great. Hat & gloves a must. Bringing a light backpack is good in case you want to remove or add layers. -I can provide more information here if need be.

Roasting Experience at 14th Coffee Co

Greeted at the coffee house by our barista host, you’ll be offered a coffee drink of your choice; lattes, cappuccino, pour overs, americanos, cold brew and more. While enjoying your coffee; our Coffee Roaster will be in action, you’ll witness how we start from a green coffee bean, dropped into the roaster, and then spilled out hot.. our roasted bean cooling off in the agigtator; while emersed in the scent of freshly roasted coffee; you’ll learn the process of creating our different profiles, origins of specialty beans used, the different kinds of roasts and blends and how they come about. We will then tour the property, experiencing the smell the coffee roaster puts into the air; you’ll see a vintage 1950s truck, Airstream, refurbished old barn, farmhouse and walk through the gardens, greenhouse and take in the serenity of nature; you will be welcomed to another coffee drink (we recommend a cold brew on those sunny days!) A charcuterie board to enjoy during roast as well as cafe treats paired with each different blend of coffee we sample. We’ll finish off in coffee house where today’s roast can be sampled, & there will be a gift basket with our blends and more for you take home! Other things to note Visitors of 14th Coffee Co often take pictures - so bringing a camera.. or your phone camera!

Randonnée une heure dans les Appalaches

Vous découvriez en balade nos belles montagnes des Appalaches en selle avec un cheval docile et bien entrainé. D'abord, chaque client est jumelé avec un cheval selon sa taille et son expérience. Vous allez avoir la chance de créer un lien de confiance avec lui en le brossant. Une fois que tout le monde a leur casque, nous quittons l'écurie pour aller aux manèges. Une fois sur votre cheval et les étriers ajustés, nous vous donnons une petite formation sur les techniques de conduite. Le manège clôturé est l'endroit idéal pour que chacun puisse tester ses nouvelles connaissances en équitation. Après cette initiation, nous partons pour la balade dans nos magnifiques sentiers champêtres. À mi-chemin, nous arrêtons en haut de la montagne pour admirer la superbe vue. Nous terminons l'activité en remerciant notre cheval pour la belle randonnée. Si vous voulez passer plus de temps avec un cheval, nous offrons également des randonnées de 2 heures ou même d'une journée. Considérez aussi nos autres activités avec les alpagas, les chiens et les habitants de notre ferme pédagogique. Autres remarques L'activité a lieu toute l'année et à toutes températures. Seulement les enfants de 12 ans et plus sont acceptés. Pour les jeunes enfants, réservez notre activité "initiation à l'équitation". La randonnée se fait en majorité aux pas, avec un peu de trot si possible, mais généralement pas de galop.

Waterfalls Waterfalls Waterfalls

After picking you up at your downtown core Toronto Airbnb, or other convenient location, we will start your adventure to Niagara Falls. Along the way we will stop at picturesque waterfalls, an iconic Canadian cafe chain, and an award-winning winery. During short walks along tree lined paths at these smaller falls, you’ll learn about the geology of the area followed by a stop at a coffee shop chain that has become part of the Canadian identity. Then, we’ll hop in the car and continue to Niagara's wine region, where we will stop for a tasting (including ICE wine) at one of Niagara Regions most award-winning wineries. After a delicious sit-down lunch, we go to the world-famous Niagara Falls where you will bathe in the mist from the Falls as we walk along the rim of the Niagara Gorge. We will have more than enough time for guests to participate in one of these optional self-led activities: the historic Niagara Boat Cruise (April to November) or The Journey Behind the Falls when the boat is not available (December to April) Following our visit to the upper edge of the mighty Horseshoe Falls we will return direct to Toronto. If you do not see a preferred date on the calendar, please request a date that is suitable for you and your group. Feel free to ASK me any questions.
