This is an outdoor shopping area that opened in 1922. It has amazing historic architecture. The Plaza was named one of the best 10 places for Holiday Lights Across America. There is an abundance of shopping and restaurants.

This is a New York style bagel place. This is the closest place for breakfast. You can see the store from the front porch.
They have a variety of salmon and whitefish. My favorite is the Pastrami Nova. Bring me one if you go, just kidding, well may be not ;)

Perhaps the best BBQ in KC. This of course is very subjective. No doubt one of the best. They are crazy busy so make reservations or order take out. Consider walking since parking can be a challenge during lunch and dinner.

The Roasterie Cafe
1204 W 27th StThis is one of my favorite spots for a special dinner and/or drinks. This is at the top of the Hotel Sorella and has great views of the plaza. They also offer happy hour 3-7 M-F. Valet parking is free, just tell them you are going to the restaurant.

This is one of 3 bars walking distance to the house. All 3 also serve food late and offer brunch. There is a shuttle service that for $10 will take you to 5 different Kansas City bar districts. Party all night long between River Market, Downtown Loop, Crossroads, W 39th Street & Westport.
Mo Brew is also a good place to watch a game.
