Naturally, when the Count de Mario Caracciolo, the last descendant of a prestigious Neapolitan family was seeking the perfect place to call home he chose this villa – known as “the jewel” or il gioiello, of Sorrento. Purchasing the home in 1970, the count filled the home with his collection of antiques and treasures. Set against a sleek white backdrop, his paintings, vases and sculptures add a historic and personal touch to the otherwise modern home.
