Great place for a family beach day. Lifeguards usually on duty. Free pier access and several restroom locations. Snacks, drinks & ice cream sold in the pier gift shop. High tide (until 11 am or so) is usually the best time to visit with little ones as the sea is calmer and more shallow.

So much to do and see! tour the Nature Center, boardwalks on the marsh, restrooms and gift shop, Athalia's Castle, beautiful beaches, playground, walk to the Jetty (find starfish, horseshoe crabs, shipwrecked on the jetty and more)! (There is no pier, but if you're into fishing the jetty is a popular fisherman's hangout.)

If you want to go out on the town at night, Broadway at the Beach, Murrell's Inlet Marsh Walk, the Market Commons or Mini Golf along King's Highway (Bus 17) are good options.
