So SO worth a trip! The gardens here are beautiful, and the staff are friendly and extremely well-informed. You can walk from the house, and it takes about an hour along the seafront. It's bigger than Deal Castle as The Duke of Wellington extended it whilst he was Lord Warden. A fascinating visit.

Kingsdown RoadSo SO worth a trip! The gardens here are beautiful, and the staff are friendly and extremely well-informed. You can walk from the house, and it takes about an hour along the seafront. It's bigger than Deal Castle as The Duke of Wellington extended it whilst he was Lord Warden. A fascinating visit.
A decent walk from the house - you'll need to cross the train tracks to walk, or you can drive which takes about ten minutes. There's a lovely children's playground here, and an excellent cafe/restaurant/bar.

One of my favourite places to visit. Wander down there, get a seat at The Zetland Arms (with a pint!), and take in the view and the atmosphere.

A short walk from our house, this is well worth a visit. The castle itself has not been altered at all since it was built (unlike Walmer Castle) and has a great entrance full of cannons; our children love it!
