This is a very popular dog-friendly pub, just a short walk from Seakale, and much enjoyed by guests. They have a great menu with locally caught fresh fish and delicious Greek dishes, which are perfect on a summer's day. In winter the pub is also very cosy with a woodburner.

This is one of our favourite pubs in Rye and it is also dog-friendly. Cute and quirky interior, with great food. Definitely worth a visit while you are there.

Rye is a pretty, medieval town, and one of the famous Cinque Ports, with wonderful far-reaching views of the surrounding, atmospheric marshes. The town is full of history, with lots of quirky and independent shops and a wealth of cafes and restaurants, most of which are dog-friendly.

Hastings is a 12-mile drive from Seakale and is well worth a visit to its historic old town, with lots of independent shops and eateries. You can take a cable car to the cliff top for outstanding views across the town and sea.

Pett Level is a short drive from Seakale, just beyond Winchelsea Beach, on the way to Fairlight. It is a unique, tranquil environment, with a vast beach on one side and fields of sheep on the other. It is the perfect escape on days when Camber Sands is busy as there is lots of free parking alongside the sea wall. At the far end of the beach, below the cliffs, there are dinosaur prints (if you can find them!) and it's a great place for fossil hunting. Beneath the sea, is The Anne, a warship of Charles II. Her remains can still be seen during unusually low tides.
