Main St. Antiques & Design Gallery is open in Mooresville, in a building that’s a beautifully restored antique itself, an old textile mill. The store is home to hundreds of vendors presenting antiques, vintage goods, arts, clothes, jewelry, accessories and custom upholstery. What makes this location unique is the grandness of the old textile mill, along with sharing the same roof as the award winning Barcelona Burger and Beer Garden, and the fabulous Aliño Pizzeria. Just walking around is a unique and gratifying experience.

Publix is West on the 150 about 3 miles. Great place to get food and snacks. Deli has great sandwiches too. Nice wine selection as well.

Hiking Trails and Biking Trails

With 30.5 miles of hiking/mountain bike and about 7.5 of hiking-only trails, the park is a great place for a hike or bike ride! See the Trails page for more information.
Boating
Currenly, due to COVID-19 and staff availability, only canoes and pedalboats are available for rent at the visitor center on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until October 10, 2021. Starting on October 16, 2021, only pedalboats will available for rent.
Privately owned boats and watercraft may access Lake Norman from the public boat launch area located at the south end of the park, on Boat Launch Drive. Use of the boat launch is free.

Fishing
Popular fish in Lake Norman include crappie, bluegill and perch, catfish, as well as striped, largemouth and spotted bass. The smaller park lake also has some choice fishing spots. Regulations of the NC Wildlife Resources Commission apply for both lakes.
Picnicking
There are three picnic areas at Lake Norman. One is located near the swimming area and accessible fishing pier, one is next to the visitor center, and another is located on Shortleaf Drive. All have restrooms, tables and grills.
Use of picnic tables is free of charge and they cannot be reserved. Unreserved picnic shelters are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. However, the shelters are very popular, so reservations are strongly suggested.
