It is not a place for chinos, white socks and sandals or baseball caps. Smart casual, shirt, jacket, chinos and loafers (basically think relaxed European riviera chic) for men and relaxed tea dresses (read I have just flown back from St. Tropez or Verbier) for ladies.

This is an absolute gem. Kit Kemp's hotel hidden in the heart of Chelsea with one of the most beautiful secret gardens where one can enjoy an afternoon tea in Summer but it is also great for taking your laptop and working from one of their lovely lounges.

This bar is engrained in Chelsea life. The original owner, a short-tempered Chinese man, who sadly is no longer with us, oversaw the creation of the famous Flaming Ferraris in the 80s. It is pretty much always packed.

Although a little bit further in Chelsea, but it is a great venue with relaxed very fresh food and great lively bar, set in a cavernous basement under the antiques market near Chelsea Harbour Design Centre. Beautiful people, great atmosphere.

I personally love this dark and cosy bar downstairs at the Blakes Hotel. Some days my friend Ivan DJs there blowing 80s tunes and soft jazz. Perfect for a romantic drink.
