This is a solid bar and seafood spot in town. A cozy wood-burning stove in the back is my favorite spot for chowder in the winter, or out on Eel pond for kale salad in the summer. Kid-friendly menu.

So technically this is in Falmouth, but you will not regret making the trip to this authentic French bakery (boulangerie/patisserie) with fresh bread and pastries such as croissants, as well as quiche and sandwiches. Truly a gem.

Sightseeing
This is the closest public beach to the apartment and house. Just a quarter mile to the west (take a right onto Millfield), this is the local summer hangout. Parking is permit only, but it's a short walk and there are lifeguards in the summer. No dogs allowed but there is a simple outdoor shower.

This is the local playground (and ballfield, volleyball court and tennis courts, all public and free). It is literally directly behind the apartment - follow the path next to the apartment and behind the house. It goes over the stream and to the playground. You don't even need to cross a street! Beautiful cherry trees blossom all around in the spring.

I consider this to be in Woods Hole (not Falmouth!), though it is on the way. A really pretty garden that used to be part of an estate on one of the salt water ponds. Great views and flowers and old anchors.

Great bike path for biking, running and walking. It starts about a half mile from the apartment and house, next to the steamship authority terminal.

Supermarkets
The only place to buy provisions in Woods Hole is the Woods Hole Market, but its days and hours of operation are a bit unpredictable. The next closest option is the 7-11 on Woods Hole Road as you go to Falmouth. In Falmouth, there are three supermarkets: Stop & Shop, Shaw's and Windfall. All are fairly similar, but the Windfall is more expensive, 'gourmet' and the only one that sells alcohol. Falmouth also has a Walmart.
The best option is the Falmouth Farmer's Market, Thursdays in summer from 12-5 at the Falmouth Marina. Fresh flowers, local meat, fresh eggs, homemade pasta, local produce.
