Orleans
Wonderful beach with a lot of space to spread out. Since it is the Atlantic Ocean, the water is cold even in July. You will definitely see seals, and maybe the occasional shark sighting! This beach is great for riding the waves, watching the sea life, and enjoying a beautiful beach. Sometimes the parking lot reaches capacity early in the day, so if it’s nice weather early arrival is a good idea. Lifeguards, bathrooms and changing rooms are available.
Parking during the day is $30. Bring Bug Spray!

Hands down our family's favorite beach on Cape Cod! Perfect for families with kids of all ages, but best for younger kids or ones that aren't into jumping waves as there aren't any. Tide goes out for a LONG way. For the younger crowd, it is all about playing in the sand and collecting hermit crabs.
It is best to go early, pay $30 for the day to park, bring snacks, drinks and lunch with you, so you can hang out for the day. Warning, you will have to move your setup as the tide changes.
You can do some swimming in the nice warm water, but only at high tide - it is wonderful for kids and adults too!
Lifeguards and bathrooms - small parking lot so arrive as early as you can!
After 4:30, the parking is free and the sunsets are gorgeous!

There are seasonal restrooms and a wheelchair-accessible ramp way to the beach.
Directions: Litte Creek Shuttle Staging Area is located one and one-half miles east of Salt Pond Visitor Center via Nauset and Doane roads. Look for sign advising summer beach shuttle. From September to late May, there are no parking restrictions at the beach parking lot.

Nearby are the popular 1.5 mile Nauset Marsh Trail, the Nauset Bicycle Trail, and the Buttonbush Trail, a .25 mile multi-sensory trail that features a guide rope and text panels printed in large lettering and Braille, as well as discovery activities for children.
In the visitor center lobby, a large map shows Cape Cod's glacial history, its position in the Gulf of Maine, and natural forces that continue to shape it. There are expansive views of the Salt Pond and Nauset Marsh from the lobby. The visitor center museum emphasizes the cultural themes represented on Cape Cod, including the First People--the Wampanoag; European settlement culture; fishing, life-saving, and lighthouses; communication technology; and tourism.
