Neighborhoods

The Rockrimmon neighborhood is distinguished by open spaces, wildlife, and a combination of long views. The downtown skyline if visible from high points looking south, and Pikes peak and the front range of mountains is close and prominent looking west. Opportunities for hiking, playing in parks, and taking off to the higher mountains are right out your door. The neighborhood offers quiet side streets, yet excellent access to major transportation arteries without delay. If you're lucky enough to be staying here during certain holidays or the Air Force Academy Graduation week, you'll witness the Air Force Thunderbirds flying directly overhead as they practice and perform.

Bring clothes for sunny days and cool nights

Colorado features a majority of bluebird sunny sky days, and cool nights after the sun sets. So bring a range of clothes to enjoy the weather outside. Think flip-flops by day and sweater by night for the summer, and an even wider range possible for spring, fall, and winter. It's common for the daily high and low temperatures to have a range of 30 degrees, and even more when the weather changes dramatically. This makes for a wonderful cool-off at night. If you're headed to the top of Pikes Peak, bring winter weight clothes, even in the summer! You'll be almost 3 miles above sea level.
