The castle is best known for its elaborate, 'sleeping-beauty' style roofs and ornate turrets, with one of the most impressive 'skylines' of all the castles in France.
There are several very interesting rooms in the chateau, with a good number of rooms containing grand fireplaces, staircase and parquetry floors to admire (although significant parts of the castle remain un-restored).

The setting is lovely and the views around the castle are very picturesque. Sadly the lake that was once in the valley below the Chateau de Puyguilhem is there no more - but the views down the valley from the chateau remain very attractive all the same.
The chateau is open to visitors all year round.

A man made beach situated some 6 minutes away. A must do is taking part in the high wire course in the trees, low, medium and high difficulties the with zip wire running the length of the lake a fantastic buzz.
