"Things to remember about the desert"
1. wear sunscreen
2. bring a hat
3. bring water if you go on a short hike, even 30 minutes in mid day sun can make you thirsty.
4. slow down, desert pace is slow.
5. talk to the locals, they love to share their own experience growing up in the desert.
6. snakes, spiders, coyotes, and more!!! Please remember that even though sightings are rare, this is a wild landscape and there are wild animals who would love to bite you. :) respect the animals space and they will respect you.
