Restaurants I would recommend close to my house
Haberdish is a decent walk (for the non lazy) or a very short drive from the house into the central NoDa area. It has a great outdoor patio, very modern casual feel. The drinks are great, especially if you like Whiskey, and the food is good too. Its the most upscale aside from one other restaurant as you are going to get in NoDa.
Tip: Try the chicken and waffles, mac'n'cheese and the cauliflower is so good!

Amelies is a very short walk from the house and is open 24 hours! They have coffee, pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads. Very great laid back vibe.

Hands down my favorite place to enjoy a beer, bottle of wine and sit just about anywhere. Its out of a little bungalow just behind the main coffee spot Smelly Cat, you can sit in the front, back, inside or the side of the house with swings is my personal favorite. They have something going on just about every day with food trucks. Staff is very friendly and the place is very casual. Hidden gem.
