Beautiful hike! It does have a very steep incline all the way up to the top (with lots of places to stop and rest if need be), but the views are worth it. There is also a bathroom and gift shop. Parking can be difficult as it gets crowded! We recommend going either early or later. It is a winding road on the way up there.

Clingmans Dome Trailhead

This is a must visit at some point during your trip! Really good burgers! We've traveled a lot and had some amazing burgers and this is right up there with the best. The best part - everything is locally sourced and homemade. Good service and good selection of beers.

Another must for the area! It's worth the venture. Good quantity and quality of home cooking Southern food, especially for the price! Everyone leaves satisfied, but still ready to come back for more. Our favorites: the corn chowder, the maple butter, and the chicken and dumplings!

A little bit of a trek, but if you're craving some of the best Southern BBQ, this little 'hole in the wall' in Gatlinburg is a great choice! And the service is great. We love the smoky Mac and cheese and the pulled pork.
