Sint Baafs Abbey is a 1,000 year old abbey that at one point was the strongest abbey in all of Flanders. Come here on Friday-Sunday to investigate the old ruins and have a beer at the Herberg Macharius house. It is a beautiful place to relax on a sunny day and learn some fascinating history

There is a fantastic permanent exhibit about the theft of Het Lam God painting, giving all of the intricate details of its theft. At the moment there is an exhibit on Willem of Orange, the king of the Netherlands, and his influence on the city of Ghent. Excellent museum.
