There are plenty of handsomely ordered opportunities to indulge in a bit of park life in Paris, from the pathways of the Jardin des Tuileries to the ponds of the Jardin du Luxembourg. But if you're looking for something a little less formal, one patch of greenery definitely worth a stroll is the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. Set high up in Belleville in the North East of Paris and often missed by weekenders keen not to stray too far from the tourist loop, this 19th arrondissement gem is one of the city's most magical spots and one of the biggest and original green spaces in Paris, measuring 25 hectares.

Hi there.

I am a French writer that has been living in Paris for more than 15 years and I love the city where I grew up, its history and architecture. I am originally from Sancerre, a vineyard in the Loire Valley. I run the Tw and F-B accounts of my family wine business @DomRogerNeveu. I heart my city where a part of my family is established since the 19th century and I will be glad to share a few tips with you if you wish so. I love history and literature (French, Anglo-saxon and German mostly), reading Fitzgerald's and Virginia Woolf's novel, walking in Paris and watching a classic movie, cooking for my friends and family, story-telling my F-B Page on Grace Kelly @GraceKellyGrimaldi (I know, I know, … The same hair wave probably :))) ), listening to jazz (try Bobby Hutcherson at 10pm if you want to create a perfect evening mood, believe me), Joan Fontaine and Manderley in Rebecca, collecting cheap antics (am not Rockefeller though), and so many other stuffs.
