Thunder Ridge at the Forest Retreat is an adults-only pet-friendly getaway. Children may come only during specific holidays. Your house will be unlocked. Check-in is a 3 p.m. Here you are surrounded by the Homochitto National Forest. Take a picnic to the sand-bars along the pristine spring-fed creek. Hike or mountain bike on the remote forest roads. Fallen Tree Entire House (pet-friendly) near NOLA

Adirondack-style treehouse cabin surrounded by a 99,000-acre national forest. The nearby spring-fed creek is a lovely cooling-off spot. Here you can wander for miles and miles along its pristine sand-bars. This house has two beds. One is across from the wood-burning stove. The second is up in the sleeping loft. The loft has an open fourth wall and a queen mattress. It’s a cozy spot and not roomy. Please see the photos of the main bed and note the loft’s ladder near it.
