The centre of trendy Peckham, although I am no doubt showing my irrelevance here by being a few months out of date, it's still a fun visit, with decent bars, Rye Wax record shop in the basement, and a rooftop cinema.

If you want the best of the traditional British pub experience, this is the place, with beautiful wood panelling, a different vibe in each room, a covered beer garden for rainy summers and roaring fires in the winter. Sometimes does barbecues and always has a strong craft beer selection. Bit out of the way in terms of public transport, we tend to go here on a quiet Sunday walk through the cemetery.

Brilliant local craft beer shop, with a huge range of bottles and cans, as well as everything you could want for home brewing, including great advice from Tim who runs the shop. It's a lovely place to sit down for a beer or two, and they also host regular live music nights.
