This is a great cafe, with a beautiful ambience. The pizza for lunch is served with antique scissors, and the coffee is Stumptown roasters.

There's a line down the block for a reason. There's ice cream, and then there's salt and straw. They've got all the usual flavors, and then some creative ones, like pear+bleu cheese, lavender, and olive oil. Local tip: you can skip to the front of the line if you buy a pre-packed pint ;-)

It doesn't look like much off the street, but head to the second floor and out the back door to check out their amazing back patio. Clearly owned by a burner, the food is pretty delicious, reasonably priced, and entirely gluten free.

Okay, it looks like an ugly cafeteria in there, and they still use styrofoam cups, which is NOT OKAY, but the fish and chips here are great. And the calamari salad is phenomenal.

It's the one place in Portland that feels like LA, so don't wear your pajamas here unless you want to get looked up and down.
