Black History museum of art @ Southern University. It is unclear to me whether they hold consistent hours. I would call before going. But this is a great place to visit and they have the Mississippi bluffs right behind it which is just BEAUTIFUL during sunset! The museum itself is no big and you can probably get through it in an hour. Be sure to time your trip appropriately so that you can catch the sunset - it's a MUST SEE! Also AVOID during Southern University Football game days.

Black History museum of art @ Southern University. It is unclear to me whether they hold consistent hours. I would call before going. Crack Chicken!! My friends and I always joke they have crack in this chicken because it keeps you coming back. So good, hubby and I exported the chicken when traveling. I suggest planning to carry out as the dining area is small and not really comfortable.
Also consider this chain had a couple other locations scattered throughout the city. This one is closest to the residence.

Great burgers, fries and milkshakes!! I just love this place. Better than 90% of the burger places out there.

It's a Louisiana Thing... the sauce is like the best thing! Make sure you order an Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade) to go with it.

Avoid Brightside/Lee Drive During LSU Game Days!
In fact, if you're in town for the games and action, you'd be better off walking if it's not too hot. You will definitely get around faster on foot than driving in circles due to blocked roads.
If you insist on driving, take the back road (River Road) where possible!
