Proper old fashioned pub with wood-panelled walls. Great real ale and dog friendly. The locals are excellent and have an annual apple-crumble baking competition

Outdoor spots to while away your time
This is a great bar but very small - the real draw is that you can take your beer outside to sit on the wall by the weir or on the grass on Sheep's Green opposite. If you're lucky you will get to say hello to the cows that makethsi common land their home!

Mill Road is multicultural and a typical student hang out. You can travel the world through it's restaurants: Jordan, Morocco, Korea Turkey, China, India, Italy...the world is your oyster. Plenty of back-street bars to hang out in too
