The Oxo Tower Restaurant has spectacular views of the Thames as does the Restaurant on the top of the Tate Modern and both serve fantastic food for a special night out.
10 mins walk to St Paul's my nearest tourist attraction. Westminster and the Houses of Parliament are three stops on the tube westbound. Hyde Park by tube is 8 mins from Southwark station and is two stops to Green Park. By foot about 45 mins away to the centre of the park. It is a lovely walk along the south side of the embankment passing South Bank, the Hayward Gallery crossing over on Hungerford Bridge, crossing Trafalgar Square and along the Mall to Buckingham (website hidden) James's Park starts there and connects to Hyde Park at Hyde Park Corner. There's a lot of art going on in surrounding Bankside, Whitechapel, Spitalfields and Bow. There is lots of good food in the neighbourhood around the Blue Fin building and of course Borough Market. The Anchor and Hope on The Cut, serves traditional hearty English food or lunchtimes at El Vergal on Southwark Bridge Road.
