Stay in comfort while enjoying the natural beauty and rich history of Helena. This property is conveniently located between Glacier & Yellowstone, close to hospital, capitol, shopping, mountain trails, continental divide, & Missouri River. Overlooking the expansive Helena Valley with a wrap-around deck, there's plenty of room inside and out. Each bedroom has its own private bath, and parking is just downstairs in the attached garage. The freeway is just over the hill and dogs are welcome.

This is a very expansive space that provides comfort, privacy, and convenience in a home boasting unique artwork. The house was built about 20 years ago on the edge of Helena's Open Space, offering viewings of wildlife, bicycling, hiking, and cross-country skiing. Beautiful views of the Helena Valley and Sleeping Giant beyond, parkland, south hills, and sunsets. We do accept well-behaved dogs and offer a special doggy-door just for them to allow more freedom to access the entirely fenced yard and attached deck. The wrap-around deck provides an abundance of space to seek either sun or shade with an abundance of privacy. While being a part of the city conveniences on one side, the house offers the feel of being secluded in the woods on the other side. The freeway is just a short drive over the hill to access shopping and spectacular drives to enjoy the unique, uncluttered beauty of Montana. It's a very short distance to two hospitals and the state capitol building, making it a favorite amongst the medical community and people involved with state and federal government. Downtown Helena is only a couple miles away with its unique walking mall and fascinatingly rich history. The continental divide is just a short drive to the west with spectacular skiing (both downhill and cross-country), snowshoeing, hiking and bicycling. The headwaters of the Missouri River is only 15 miles to the east, providing blue ribbon trout and walleye fishing, floating, boating, and swimming opportunities. The garage underneath provides a secure place for your car without ever having to clear snow or deal with heat; the driveway and street are plowed of snow regularly.

Helena is a delightful city with a rich history ideally located equal distance from Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, the continental divide and the Missouri River, and amongst the major cities of Montana. Prehistoric peoples occupied the area as far back as 10,000 years, with a Clovis archaeological site just south of town. Lewis and Clark came through this area following the Missouri River to its headwaters on their journey to the Pacific Ocean in 1804. Gold was found here in 1863, and the city grew from that time to boast the greatest number of millionaires per capita from that time to the turn of the century. This wealth is noted today in the architecture and cultural amenities that Helena offers. Helena was chosen as the State Capitol upon statehood in 1889. For its size, Helena has a unique mix of cultural activities, arts, museums, restaurants and taverns; as well as a vibrant political culture in government and non-profits. The area offers unending opportunities for recreation and exploration.

The neighborhood is quiet being right on the edge of the city. Open Space parkland is on one side of the house, providing recreational opportunities and solitude. The house is set back away from the street, providing quiet and privacy. The road is an arterial access to the hospital, so it remains plowed and maintained always, and our driveway is plowed regularly.
