Our home is in an idyllic location overlooking the Slieve Bearna mountains with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. You’ll feel right at home and love the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We’ve all modern conveniences without losing the old-world charm. Excellent walking trails, lots of outdoor activities. An ideal base for exploring Clare’s many tourist attractions including Cliffs of Moher, Burren, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, Craggaunowen, Ennis, Galway and a host of hidden gems.

Помещението
As one of our guests reviewed "We all looked forward to this vacation, but none of us expected what we experienced: a glorious, well-equipped, home, with so many delightful nooks and crannies, not to mention the great collection of books and games, great beds and bathrooms, and a terrace with views from one's dreams".

Our home in Glendree was designed to bring the "outside in" and a run of French doors, multiple skylights and large expanses of double glazing throughout the house all serve to capture the view, solar warmth and light.
When guests step into the bright, spacious, open plan living room for the first time, invariably, there's a big 'wow!'

When we’re home we like to spend some of our time with family and friends – walking, talking, cooking, dining . . . and at other times quietly reading, listening to music and watching movies. Our high quality cook’s kitchen sits at the centre of how we live and the big tables, wall of books, cushy sofas and reclining chairs in front of a fireplace and a big screen ... all help make you comfortable and relaxed.

When it's wet outside, guests love our plant-filled conservatory and when the sun is shining, there's the terrace overlooking the valley complete with firepit, cushions and fluffy blankets to make you as comfortable outside as we know you'll be inside.

A stream runs through our back yard orchard and can be heard from the terrace. All around you there are green, rolling hills, hedge-lined lanes, and moss-covered stone walls and cottages – all made for quiet, contemplative walking or if you feel like it - more active hiking, cycling, fishing, riding, biking or exploring the many award-winning Irish tourist attractions within an hour's drive.

Our house is a real mix of the old and the new. A complete renovation and extension of the main house was undertaken in 2008 and two years later, the old dairy or 'cowshed' as the kids call it, was connected to the main house and converted into an stylish, private retreat area sleeping four or five complete with separate entrance, wood-burning stove, sunken lounge and large screen TV. The original 300 year old cottage still stands proudly next to it and has more recently become a studio for three local potters.

We find many of our guests, despite the best touring plans and our proximity to major tourist attractions, simply relax and stay close, enjoying our home and close environs.

FEAKLE VILLAGE, home of the famous Feakle Festival held each summer for over 35 years now. Here you’ll find Peppers Pub with traditional Irish music sessions every Wednesday and Sunday nights, and Shorts (Lena's) Bar with the longest running session in Ireland – every Thursday night for nearly 50 years - great craic! The Pepper’s publican, Gary Pepper, will even arrange a minibus to come and collect small groups from the house and take you to his pub for a pub dinner and some music. Very, very quiet during the day. Everything happens behind closed doors at night except for Peppers which is always open!

TULLA VILLAGE, home of the famous Tulla Ceili Band, is also where you'll find a well-stocked Supervalu supermarket with fresh crusty bread baked throughout the day and a decent selection of wines, the Holly Tree Café, an ATM in the supermarket, and a Saturday morning Farmers Market in the old Courthouse.

EAST CLARE WAY scenic walk, a 172 km loop through forests, bogs and magnificent scenery. Pick and choose sections of it to suit yourself, the weather . . . your fancy.

CNOC NA GAOITHE is the Tulla Comhaltas Cultural Centre. Workshops and traditional concerts. Located on top of the famous Windswept Hill of Tulla, its mission is to promote, preserve and showcase the rich Irish traditions and culture of Tulla and the East Clare area.
