Bayfield is a beautifully restored 6 bed 5 bath farmhouse situated in its own 3 acres of gardens, orchard and rough land looking out over Galway Bay. It is right on one of the loveliest parts of the Wild Atlantic Way. It has stunning views over the Bay to Galway and the hills of the Burren National Park are all around.

Помещението
Bayfield House is extremely spacious. It has six bedrooms and five bathrooms and loads of space outside in the gardens fields and patios that surround the house. (Note that 6th bedroom is for groups of over 12). The house was built as a farm house by our Great Great Grandfather over 100 years ago and has since been lovingly restored to make it extremely comfortable. It is on one of the most beautiful sections of the Wild Atlantic Way and has great views in every direction; over Galway Bay, up to the Burren Hills and out over the gardens and fields that surround the house.
While being perfect for just a couple of people it can sleep up to 12 with three very comfortable en suite doubles, one twin and one bunk room (this has a double bed and a bunk bed) ideal for kids. A cot is also available. There are three sitting rooms; one is large yet cosy with an open fire and also has the dining table which can seat 12. Another over looks the garden/orchard with views down to the sea and has a large TV and DVD collection; and the third one has one seat upstairs overlooking Galway Bay - perfect for reading a good book. The kitchen is huge and well equipped and there is a large breakfast table. The house is used extensively by the family who also love the place being enjoyed by other people.
Bayfield is in the heart of the Burren Nature Reserve and looks directly over Galway Bay with sea views from the beds in the two front bedrooms and from the seat on the lookout perch upstairs. The surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful and while being a perfect place to do nothing the area naturally offers a huge amount of activities and things to see and do. A five minute walk takes you to a sandy beach and the stunning Flaggy Shore with a three mile coastal road that has got to be one of the best strolls in the world. The location is very rural whilst also benefiting from having the excellent seafood pub Linnanes about 500 meters away and the superb coffee that is served in the Russell Gallery even closer. It's a ten minute drive to the bustling coastal village of Kinvara or a 15 minute drive to the other close-by coastal village of Ballyvaughan. Also within easy reach by road or water taxi (summer only) is the lively coastal town of Galway famed for its Oyster Festival, the Galway Races and the great music played in its pubs. There are superb walks right from the front door of Bayfield which are great for any level of fitness ranging from the walk around the shore to hiking in the Burren hills. The golf courses of Lahinch, Gort and Drumoland are nearby. The surfing/kite surfing mecca of Lahinch is a short drive away as are the Cliffs of Moher which are probably the most striking thing to see in Ireland. Due to the makeup of the landscape the area is famed for its flora and fauna. For historians there is the local history of the ring forts and the Neolithic tombs. It is a great place!

The house is available for a minimum of 5 days due to the time it takes to get it ready.

There is an endless supply of things to do in the area. The walks are top of the list for most people. The coastal walk offers different scenery every time you walk it due to the ever changing height of tide. At low tide the rock pools are great for foraging in for sea life and the local sandy beach extends out into Galway Bay. Quite often seals bask on the rocks of nearby inlets. The walks in the limestone covered hills that surround New Quay are also brilliant. There are easy walks and also some more challenging circuits that you won't want to try unless you are fairly fit and take some provisions for. There are several horse riding stables in the area and quite often horse racing or point to point racing which is very popular in Ireland. The local villages of Kinvara and Ballyvaughan are great to visit and have superb pubs and restaurants. They often host festivals and regularly have live Irish music being played in one or other of the pubs. Further afield is Galway which (email hidden)ly and vibrant town that has year round live music in many of the bars. It has very very cool night life especially round the Quay side area and is a lovely town to walk around with a huge Cathedral and some lovely old Irish streets. Also within easy reach are the Aran Islands which can be accessed by a small ferry from Doolin (about an hour trip). The Islands are absolutely beautiful and great for walking on or hiring a bike and cycling around. Ferries from Doolin also go to the Cliffs of Moher which are as striking to see from the water as they are from the top of the cliffs. Having said how much there is to do around the area, Bayfield House and the tiny area of New Quay is somewhere that is great to stay and doing nothing in. There is the pub down the road and the Russel Gallery that does great food, wine and teas and coffees. You can buy freshly laid eggs and other basic groceries from local farmers. Staying in the house is a lovely thing to spend time doing either in the house itself or out in the garden taking in the views.

Bayfield is a 50 minute drive from Shannon Airport and about 2hrs 30mins from Dublin.

Galway is the closest town and great to visit and is a 50 minute drive away or you can go there by boat from the near by fishing village of Kinvara which is the closest place for shopping and is a ten minute drive away.

Doolin is about 30 mins drive away and from the house and ferries go to the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Mohar from there.

While at Bayfield there is loads to do within walking distance of the house with the beach 800 yards down the road and Linnanes Sea Food Restaurant and Bar a five minute walk away.

The house is generally let from Saturday to Saturday but feel free to contact us if you would like to take it for less days out of the peak season and we will work out a price. Thanks for you interest!

Живея в Лондон с италианската ми съпруга Битрис и двамата обичаме да пътуваме възможно най - много. Преди всичко обичаме да прекарваме време по западното крайбрежие на Ирландия и в и около Рим.
