Hidden away in the gorgeous Alkham Valley, this place is perfect if you’re craving fresh air and a relaxing break from everyday life. Step straight out onto peaceful country footpaths or head 7.5 miles to the White Cliffs of Dover for dramatic coastal scenery and iconic photographs. Folkestone’s mix of sandy and shingle beaches sits just 6 miles away, while Sandwich and Pegwell Bay (18 miles) offer dunes, birdlife, and a protected nature reserve.

Golf fans can book a round at Prince’s Golf Club, home to a 27-hole championship links course, 18 miles away, or stay closer at Etchinghill or Sene Valley (both within 9 miles). Kent’s food scene is just as tempting, with Michelin-star restaurants, cosy pubs, and excellent seafood spots dotted all along the coast, making days out just as rewarding as quiet nights in.

Enter this charming wooden-clad lodge into a welcoming, open-plan living area that beckons guests to unwind instantly. In the lounge area, there is comfortable seating, where guests can read a book or catch up on the day, while the kitchen area boasts ample worktop space alongside an electric oven/hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave. Gather for meals at the adjoining dining table. This floor is rounded off with a modern shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. Upstairs leads to a mezzanine level, which is beautifully decorated and lit by a large window. Cushy twin beds complete this accommodation.

After a long day of exploring, relax in the shared gardens with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.
