Located in the 500 block of N Negley Ave, this furnished 1 BR apartment accommodates up to 3 (2 in bedroom's double bed, 1 on living room's IKEA Beddinge futon). Free parking on adjacent streets. On bus line for easy commute to Pitt, CMU, UPMC hospitals, Downtown, & more. Walking distance to a bike rental station, shopping, & dining.

• Please note that this unit is a lower level apartment and is located in the finished basement of a building that contains other apartments on the floors above. Its windows are fully above ground level (as opposed to how the windows of some basement units are often in below-grade window wells).
• Even though this apartment is located in the basement, it gets natural light during the day as the apartment contains a total of 6 windows (5 of which can be opened for ventilation).
• This unit consists of a bedroom, open living area/kitchen, and bathroom.
• As this unit is located in a finished basement, the concealed ductwork resulted in a ceiling that is low in some spots, so guests over 5'9" (175 cm) tall may have to duck in a few parts of the main living area/kitchen.
• Absolutely no smoking, vaping, or pets are permitted in the apartment.

• You'll basically have access to the entire basement level of the building, except for the building's mechanical room.
• You will be the only guest(s) staying in this unit, and will have access to the unit's bedroom, living area/kitchen, and bathroom.
• You will have access to the building's internet service (we provide WiFi access only).
• Bedroom includes: Full size bed, dresser, mirror, ceiling light, lamp, closet, fan, individually controlled heat, and a window that opens to provide light and ventilation.
• Bathroom includes: towels, sink, toilet, and shower (no tub). We also provide starter supplies of toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, and body wash; guests are responsible for replenishing these items themselves should they require more during their stay.
• Living Area/Kitchen includes: an IKEA Beddinge futon/sofa bed that opens into a full-size bed, end tables, wall-hung desk with chair, dining table and 3 chairs (pull the chair over from the desk if a 4th chair is needed), full size sink, full size refrigerator/freezer, in-counter electric cooktop, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and enough pans, dishes, and other basic kitchen ware to prepare and serve simple meals. Please note that this apartment does NOT have a full size oven, the only oven is the toaster oven.
• We provide starter supplies of coffee/tea/sugar/powdered creamer/salt/pepper/oil; for stays of 1 week or less, the amounts provided are sufficient for most guests. Guests are responsible for replenishing these items themselves should they require more during their stay.
• WE PERMIT A MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY OF 4 PEOPLE (regardless of their age, size, or proposed sleeping arrangements).
• All individuals who will be on the property for ANY amount of time must be paid for (regardless of their age or size) and are to be accounted for in the total number when you send a booking request.
• We offer this apartment for use only by the registered guests whose names have been provided to us and who are included in the guest count as shown on the itinerary that Airbnb generates for us once a booking is made.
• For liability reasons, we do not permit any unregistered guests to be on the property.
• No pets are permitted on the property.

Please note that there are no laundry facilities in the apartment. The laundromat we recommend to our guests is The Laundry Factory; it is located on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside, and is a 7 minute drive from the apartment. The Laundry Factory is open 7 AM to 9:30 PM daily and offers self-serve coin operated washers and dryers, drop-off laundry service, and dry cleaning services.

• If we have the Instant Book feature activated, DO NOT under any circumstances make an Instant Booking if you plan to have someone under 18 years old with you.

If you have indicated elsewhere (i.e., in a message via the Airbnb platform or in any other communication) that you intend to bring more people than the number you marked, or if you arrive at our home with more people than you booked for, before you check in the number of guests must be adjusted on the Airbnb system (but cannot exceed the listed maximum occupancy) and the appropriate extra person fee must be paid.
• Weekly stays (7+ nights) and monthly stays receive a discount, and this discount is automatically calculated by Airbnb's system when you enter your desired dates and the accurate number of guests.
• No discounts are offered for stays of less than 1 week, and no additional discounts are offered on top of the above-mentioned weekly/monthly discounts.
• If you have any questions about the rate displayed when you are in the process of making a booking request, please ask for clarification BEFORE you finalize your booking request.
• Once your booking request has been submitted and we have accepted it, eligibility for a refund will be as specified in the cancellation policy that was in effect at the time you booked.

Also, there's currently a Healthy Ride bike station within less than half a mile of the apartment, and there are plans for another to be installed even closer (just a 3 minute walk from the building). With 92 stations (and expansion plans for 83 more over the next year) and over 500 bikes located throughout the city, a Healthy Ride bike rented from any station can be dropped off at that same station or at any other station.

All the major Universities (Pitt, CMU, Duquesne, Point Park, Chatham, Carlow), the Downtown area, the Strip District, and the North Side are a short and easy commute from the apartment. UPMC Shadyside, UPMC Children's Hospital, and West Penn Hospital are just a 5 minute drive away. Many other UPMC facilities (WPIC, Presby, Mercy, St. Margaret's) are within a 10 to 15 minute drive, as are Allegheny General and the VA's University Drive and Highland Drive facilities.

Shopping and restaurants in the East Liberty/Shadyside area are within walking distance. Just a few blocks from:

Hi we're Azhar (but everyone calls me Lee) and Lisa. Lisa usually handles the bookings and other communications on our listings. Our listings include an entire dome home, 1 & 2 BR apartments, and Private Rooms (please note that if you're viewing one of our "Private Room" listings, most of those are for rooms in the home we live in, which is NOT the dome house... we only very rarely offer "Private Room" rentals in the dome home, as it is usually offered only as a whole house rental). One of our listings, our Yaca-Dome, has been featured in Pittsburgh Magazine, and it may be the most unique Pittsburgh property that is offered on Airbnb. We call it "The Igloo" (take a look at the listing photos and you'll see why), and it's usually available only as a whole house rental. With 3 bedrooms, the home can accommodate up to 6 guests. The Igloo offers a relaxing, private setting while still being within the city limits and close to all the great amenities and attractions Pittsburgh has to offer. The private apartments we offer are located on bus lines that provide easy access to Oakland and Downtown. There is also free on-street parking available. While we occasionally offer private room rentals in the Yaca-Dome or in the 2 bedroom apartment, most of the private rooms we offer are at the home we live in. In our home, you can rent individual or multiple rooms (including one room with its own private en suite bathroom), depending on availability. Our home is conveniently located near all the amenities Pittsburgh's East End has to offer, and is less than a 10 minute walk to Bakery Square/G**gle. We are also located near a CMU and Chatham shuttle stops. And if you bring a car, plenty of free street parking and off-street parking is available. Lee has already added numerous green features to our properties, such as an in-floor radiant heating system (in the 1st floor and basement of our home), changed all the lighting to LED & CFL bulbs, installed many low flow water fixtures, etc. We plan to use part of our Airbnb earnings to add more green features. • Usually it will be Lisa who answers Airbnb messages, meets you at the apartment for check in, and serves as the primary contact during your stay.
• You are responsible for contacting us in advance to coordinate a mutually agreeable arrival time.
• We schedule check in times between the hours posted on our listing. Depending on the circumstances and our schedules, we may agree to schedule a check in later than our listed check in times, but this must be requested BEFORE the booking is made.
• Please keep in mind that we will schedule our other obligations and plans for the day based on the originally agreed-upon arrival time, and plan your travel schedule accordingly.
• If your plans change and you arrive in town earlier than the agreed-upon time, due to our other obligations we often won't be available to meet you earlier and/or may not yet have the apartment ready for you to check in.
• Unless it is for an emergency, please communicate via the Airbnb messaging system. You may call our phone number (listed on your Airbnb itinerary) for emergencies.
• Upon arrival, be prepared to upon request present your valid government-issued photo ID (US driver's license or state-issued ID card, or passport) and the name on the ID must match the name on your account; if the booking was made for double/triple occupancy, your traveling companion(s) must also be prepared to provide the same, and you must upon booking send a message to provide us with the full legal name(s) of everyone who is part of your booking.
• For the safety and security of our home and everyone in it, YOU MAY NOT FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME BRING ANYONE INTO OUR HOME OTHER THAN THE GUESTS WHO ARE ACCOUNTED FOR IN YOUR RESERVATION AND WHOSE FULL LEGAL NAMES HAVE BEEN PROVIDED IN ADVANCE.
• For stays of more than 7 nights, unless other arrangements are agreed to one of us will stop by once a week to collect the used towels and linens and bring clean ones, and we will provide notice before doing so.
• We may occasionally need to enter this apartment's main living area in order to access the adjoining storage/mechanical room (the mechanical room contains furnaces and water heaters for the rest of the building, and the only access to it is thru this basement apartment), to perform required maintenance, or to show the apartment to prospective tenants. While we do reserve the right to in the case of an emergency enter the apartment without notice, whenever practical we will give notice prior to entering the apartment.
