Day 1
It is recommended to book flights with an early arrival time to Baltra airport to make sure you can enjoy all of the activities of the tour.

Option 1: Itinerary for flights arriving at Baltra before 11:00 AM
At Baltra airport, we will pick you up to go to Puerto Ayora to enjoy your lunch. After lunch you’ll take the speedboat to Isabela Island. This can be a bumpy ride so provide yourself a waterproof jacket and motion sickness medication if necessary. Upon arrival on Isabela Island, we will pick you up and you’ll visit the Flamingo Lagoon. After that, your driver will drop you off at your hotel.
Accommodation in Hotel San Vicente or similar.

Option 2: Itinerary for flights arriving at Baltra after 11:00 AM
If your flight is scheduled to arrive after 11:00 AM, you’ll stay at Santa Cruz Island on the first day because the last speedboat to Isabela Island leaves around 02:00 PM. You won’t have lunch in this case. If you have time, you will have an activity, which will be either Tortuga Bay or Charles Darwin Station. The rest of the tour usually looks like this: Day 2: Santa Fe, Day 3 Bahia half day tour & Tortuga Bay / Charles Darwin Station, Day 4 Santa Cruz highlands, afternoon boat to Isabela, Day 5 Wetlands & Tintoreras, Day 6 Los Tuneles, Day 7 morning boat to Santa Cruz and transfer out.

My goal with this company is to design the most impressive trips through the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru. With my experience with horses, tourism and business, both in Holland and Ecuador, I am sure these tours will offer an incredible experience. All tours are personally selected by me, and co-hosted by Andres Reinoso, who has an MBA on Tourism Enterprises and more than 10 years of experience in the tourism industry.

There were a few logistical things that could have been better (but I think some of this was probably due to travel restarting and working out some kinks), but overall an amazing experience. Many of the guides were truly stellar (particular shout out to John on the Pinzon tour and Vanessa who I had for several tours). The company also assisted in antigen test (extremely thankful), and further when I had a problem with my ATM card working, one of the organizers lent me the money. I will always be thankful for this kindness as I wouldn’t have been able to get home without it and it was above and beyond.

Was the tour nice? Absolutely! The activities were enjoyable and we were happy with the hotels we stayed in. Did we see plenty of the magnificent animals that one can observe in their natural habitat in Galapagos? Most certainly, what an amazing place and biodiversity, we enjoyed the tours. Is there room for improvement in the organization of activities? Probably. A couple of times we were told to be ready in the morning at a specific time and had to wait more than an hour before getting picked up, that is not ideal while on vacation. During an activity on Isabela only one of two guides showed up and we were told (we can not know for sure whether it’s true) that the other one got too drunk and could not be present that day. Fortunately the guide who did show up is a really great guide, however he only spoke Spanish and German, some people could help translating but things get lost in translation. This does not depend on Rebecca or the agencies she works with but I hope there were consequences for that guide as it is not acceptable to behave in such unprofessional manner. We actually want to point out that Alex, our tour operator/organiser was amazing and did the best he could to make it a great experience!! Lastly, after the walk to the wall of tears the driver forgot to come pick us up before 6pm when the national park closes, which meant we had to walk 2 additional km after the 10km that were planned, even the guide was speechless and not particularly happy with the situation. Suggested improvements : - We found that the walk to the wall of tears was a bit pointless. The tour and history once you’re at the wall of tear is interesting, but walking there 5km appeared to be useless. It’s not the distance, but the vegetation in the Christmas period was repetitive and not particularly worth it. Most other groups of tourists go there by bike and I would recommend doing the same as it takes less time and the overall experience would probably benefit. - Maybe spending one more day in Isabela and one less in Santa Cruz could improve the overall experience of the tour, Isabela probably is the nicest island in my opinion. In conclusion we enjoyed the tour, and even thought the description of the negative aspects ended up taking more space than the positive we would recommend this tour to fellow travellers as our overall rating shows.
