Going on the Cowboy Trail is really an opportunity to immerse yourself in that First Nations and Alberta Western culture. The trail winds its way through rolling foothills with stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and some cool little towns along the way. Within the charming hamlets and towns that dot the trail, you’ll find all kinds of unique shops featuring artisan goods, antiques, and western-themed mercantile.

Once you are finished up lunch in Pincher Creek, town where the Cowboy Trail starts, you will continue with a scenic drive and visit to the Waterton National Park.

This park is so distinctive that it has four joint international designations – International Peace Park, Biosphere Reserve, World Heritage Site and the first transboundary International Dark Sky Park (IDA).

Stop at the Bison Paddocks where Bison reintroduction project is taking place, is included in your tour. This project is ecologically important for the park and culturally significant for First Nations communities in southern Alberta.

Last stop is...The Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO site, built into the edge of a cliff which served as a formation which the First Nation people historically used to luring a herd of bison over a cliff causing them fall to their death.

This is a once in a lifetime experience if you want to know Alberta's history and culture, going beyond just the beautiful mountains and lakes. Jerzy is so enthusiastic about the tour, you would think it's his first time seeing these beautiful places; when in reality he has been there dozens of timed, and has amazing stories and stories to share. The weather wasn't ideal on the day of my tour, but Jerzy made sure the experience was just as amazing regardless. In fact the 6 hour tour turned into about a 9-10 hour tour because Jerzy kindly offered to show me Waterton which originally wasn't on the itinerary. We saw deers, Bisons, Elks, cows and horses, visited rustic towns, ranches, distilleries and restaurants. Lastly, you simply cannot beat the value or the quality of this tour with a big bus tour. Book with Jerzy. you can thank me later ;)
