All our baking classes start with weighing the ingredients, and then your instructor will guide you through the key steps of making your own French breads hands-on.
Starting with just flour, water, salt and yeast you will start by learning how to make the quintessential French - even Parisian - bread: baguette.
Mixing, folding, forming, resting, proving, scarring, dusting and baking will be all the steps you will go through. Adding butter and a bit of sugar - and some specific techniques - you will also learn how to make Brioche. Which you will then get to taste with our own Pain Perdu recipe. And we will show you how you can add some olive oil to make another type of bread - for example Ciabatta. This and the Fench baguette you will get to taste with jam and one of our favorite cheeses, Brillat Savarin.
And of course all this is before leaving with a bag of your creations, which you can share (or not) with friends and family, eat as a sandwich later in the day or even for breadkfast the day after.
We will finish around 1:00 pm.
Other things to note
The overall experience lasts about 4 hours, and you will need to be comfortable standing for the duration of the kitchen time, which will be a good 3 hours of those 4. Of course you can always take a break and sit to rest during that time.

Amanda and I love to cook and we love to share. Amanda is a ceramist, and I am a chemical engineer by training – and patisserie kind of nicely sits in the middle of both of these: science and touch. So while being British and French respectively, after 15 years of going astray in Corporate America, we followed our passion in 2012, re-trained somewhat and opened Le Foodist. This has become one of the most successful cooking schools in Paris where we love to share various aspects of French culture through Food. And we have gathered a team of extremely talented Chefs (Frédéric, Sarah, Christophe, Florence, Anne, Guillaume and Hugo) who among other things can teach how to make croissants, baguettes, macarons, chocolate eclairs and other French Desserts - delivering tips and tricks and focusing on techniques, while having fun!

Fred is wonderful. My husband and I really enjoyed his class. He is funny and interactive and gives the class a personal touch . At the end of the class he set up a table so that we could all sit and enjoy our bread. He provided cheese and jam to go with our goods and kept us laughing with his stories. I loved it!!!

My boyfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful time in this class! Fred was a great instructor: he was very knowledgeable in bread-making, guided us with clear instructions, had a great sense of humor, and was a wonderful storyteller. Learning how to make 3 different types of bread was so much fun, and they all turned out delicious! We also loved getting to know the other people taking the class, who came from all over the world! Would recommend this experience to anyone who loves food, learning new things, and meeting new people!
